Looking for a free printable Christmas coloring book? With the slew of free or low cost programs available, it’s almost impossible to resist the opportunity to make your own coloring pages! With three boys to occupy, and a desire not to waste money on poorly done coloring books that would only ever be half used, torn, or lost, I started making my own pages – using themes and images they liked. While my older boys are now able to color more sophisticated pictures (see my free printable Christmas coloring book for adults) my 3 year old still excels with more simple shapes and coloring in bold lines. In fact, one of our favorite coloring books was a series of simple, bold line drawings of ice cream cones, vehicles, and animals. It made it quite easy for him to learn concepts of coloring within lines, controlling his crayon or marker, and feeling successful creating a nice picture. As an adult participating with him, I was drawn to the simple, bold shapes and simplistic designs – it was very pleasing to the eye!
For Christmas, I chose to whip up a quick free printable Christmas coloring book geared towards toddlers with the same inspiration. Simple shapes, bold lines, and room for LOTS of fun. Decorate a tree, customize your gingerbread man, and make the Christmas stocking your own. Print these pages out for the perfect distraction – maybe you need to keep the kids busy while wrapping gifts or, encourage everyone to show their best work and display the final result for the holiday!
